George's Castle is one of the oldest buildings in the fortress and its construction reflects the influence of many centuries. The mighty roof truss impresses with masterful carpentry, original beam connections, and architectural details. George's Castle, including its roof truss, has been subject to many changes through the epochs, from the late Middle Ages through Baroque renovations to the more recent past. A place where craftsmanship, technology, and aesthetics combine in a unique way.
Between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM, we invite you to join special guided tours: Every 45 minutes, groups of up to 15 people will depart, accompanied by a guide who will share fascinating stories and background information about this centuries-old building (guides tour only in German language). No registration is required – the meeting point is the entrance to the "In lapide regis" exhibition, at the gatehouse.
And the best part: Photography is expressly encouraged!
