Wartime Barracks I

Today

This bombproof wartime barracks was constructed in 1888/89. Up to 400 men could live in the ten adjoining rooms that were equipped with stoves. An around five meters strong layer of sandstone vault, sand cushion, granite stamped concrete, and earth provided safety. Iron window shutters offered protection from splinters. Above the Wartime Barracks I is the Battery Position 7.
