The Treasury House was built in 1854/55 similar to a bombproof gunpowder store for preserving monetary stocks of the Saxon ministry of finance. It has a massive vault and up to 1.80 meters strong side walls. A double door secured the entrance. In the ground floor’s floor are four portholes, through which the money barrels got into the cellar. A still existing rail system made it easier to move them. In the German War (1866), a part of the Saxon state treasure and important archive stocks were stored at the Treasury House.
