Dry ditch with wooden ramp

A wooden ramp leads over the third ditch, which secures the entrance to the fortress between the Tenaille and the Gate House. In case of a siege, it could have been removed or burned down quickly. A drawbridge, replaced by a bascule bridge in 1892, led to the closest fortress gate and the Gate House.
