In 1967, the construction works for a new lift through the rock began. First, miners drove a 25 meters long tunnel into the rock at the foot of the fortress. From the plateau, they embedded a 32 meters long shaft. Up there, in the lift building, is the drive technology. In May 1970, the new Passenger and Goods Lift was inaugurated and it was reconstructed to meet the EU standard in 2003.
